So because I'm obsessed with my skin's health lately I decided to do some online research. I was shocked when I read the following:
1. table salt causes arthritis, a condition involving damage to the joints because table salt sticks to it.
2. sea salt has 84 minerals in it. Making sea salt consumption good for your heart, your longs, your blood, your thinking ability, etc. etc.
3. you can have as much sea salt as you want, because it leaves your body through urine when you take in too much.

Table salt is refined salt, which contains about 97% to 99% sodium chloride. It usually contains substances that make it free-flowing(anti-caking agents)such as sodium silicoaluminate or magnesium carbonate.
But: sea salt contains less iodine, an element essential for human health. Other foods with iodine are dairy for example.
What about bath salts?
Bath salts provide a variety of benefits to a bather. Salts change the osmotic balance of the water so that less water is absorbed by the skin via osmosis. This reduces the "pruning" or "wrinkling" effect of prolonged exposure of skin to fresh water.
Just like in the dead sea...High concentrations of salts increase the specific gravity of the water and increase buoyancy which makes the body feel lighter in the bath. Very high concentrations of salts in water are used in flotation therapy.
