Little Lipstick Haul

As you are reading this i am going to assume that you are a beauty lover and ever beauty lover has a large soft spot for a good lipstick. I am always on the hunt for the perfect lipstick and even if i think i've found it i keep looking and find another that i can add to my collection and this month has been no different. So this month i have gone slightly mad on the lipstick buying front so i thought i would share my purchases with you. I am trying to update my make up to move it into Autumn/Winter as i have a lot of pinks and nudes which i prefer to wear during the summer months so these lipsticks are a bit brighter and more berry toned.

Lets start with MAC, MAC is one of my favourite brands for lipsticks and they have the largest variety of shades and formulas which is an instantly winner for me. I always keep an eye on MACs new launches and one really caught my eye. As you might know if you have been reading my blog for a while last year i loved the first Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick which was a beautiful red with a frost finish and red/gold flecks of shimmer in it but since then i haven't been wowed by any of the Viva Glam shades. That was until i saw the new Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 Lipstick which is a bright orange lipstick in a matte formula. The fact that it is a matte lipstick was what drew me in because i love a good matte shade but also it is a shade which has been missing from my collection for a while. I have been reluctant to buy an orange shade as i am a natural red head and i thought it would be too much orange however on me this has an almost red tint to it which suits my warmer complexion. I don't usually wear bright lipsticks to work but i have had so many complements on this lipstick which was lovely as it was very out of my comfort zone to wear it. Another good thing about it, is that all of the money raised goes towards their AIDS charity so you are doing something good by buying it.

The next purchase was a Velvetghost inspired purchase, she wore this lipstick in one of her videos and i thought it would be a perfect Autumn/Winter lipstick. It is a deep red with a slightly purple tone to it. When i saw it i knew it was the exact shade that i had been looking for and it is called Diva. I have been wearing it with a bit of liquid eyeliner and a very basic make up look so that my lips are the stand out part of my face. Once again this is a matte formula and it lasts a good few hours on the lips. It is slightly drying so i have been wearing lip balm to bed to try and condition my lips so that i can wear matte lipsticks more often. I thinking wearing a matte red makes it a little bit more daytime appropriate instead of making it more evening appropriate like a glossy formula.

As an alternative to the matte formula i bought one of the Laura Mercier Lip Parfaits in Raspberry Ripple. It is a sort of lipstick/balm hybrid so it is more moisturising than the matte lipsticks i love but it also has a decent amount of pigment so it has the colour of a lipstick. Prior to this i haven't used any of the Laura Mercier lip products but these truly are lovely products, they have a decent range of colours but this one seemed good for Autumn/Winter, it is a pink but it isn't too rich or deep but it also isn't too pink. If you want a more autumnal lipstick but you don't want to go for the more typical berry shades this is a good one

I love a good lipstick and as i've said before i think a lipstick is the easiest product for you to like and pick because there is such a massive range of them in every beauty store but it is always nice to be able to see a review of something you are thinking about buying. Please let me know any lipsticks or products you love using for Autumn/Winter because i am in the market for some new make up and i want some recommendations.
