Anita Grant Lippy Pucker Lip Tints

Rock Stone
When I first saw Anita Grant lip tints, I was intrigued by the names and despite the website not showing any swatches or in depth colour descriptions I bought a selection anyway. Since I haven't seen much swatches of these products, I thought it would be helpful to do some myself to help anyone else who may want to purchase a shade but feels uneasy about what they might get ... Hope it helps.

Packaging: The Lip tints come in a white lip balm tube with a paper label, that is prone to getting grubby. Package snobs you have been notified.

Texture: Anita Grant lip tints have a dry/hard texture and a matte finish to them. They are not drying but they don't necessarily feel like a regular lip balm. What I mean to say is - though they do have a balm-like quality to them, they don't have the slippery, glossy feeling texture like some lip balms and lipsticks have. Yet, the do feel relatively comfortable on the lips, the only word that I feel can describe it is ... that they are nourishing but not necessarily moisturising on the lips (makes sense?).

Swatches from L to R: Candy Cane, Nutmeg, Maraschino Cherry, Rum and Raisin + Tapioca.
Pigmentation: I wouldn't say these lip tints are pigmented but they're not sheer either. Personally I need to swipe each shade, a few times before I get even coverage because the product is quite hard. The shades seem to be fairly pigmented but with lots of fine (non-grainy) shimmers. So if you're after super bright pigmented colours that are opaque in one swipe with no shimmers, this will not be for suitable for you. However, if you want shimmery or sheer tints/colours that can be built up and played around with other lip products (lip glosses/lipsticks etc.) - then these lips tints might be brilliant for you.
Scent: Smells like Cocoa Butter.
Do they stain: No.
I took a picture of my bare lips before swatching to help see the difference that these lippy pucker lip tints make.
Colours/Shades

Nutmeg: A very sheer brown with no shimmers. It takes a lot of swipes for this colour to make a remote amount of difference on my lips and even then I think my mind is playing tricks on me. This colour/shade/lip tint feels most like a lip balm - very moisturising. I really like it and I'm actually happy about the texture and feel as it looks like Dark Chocolate hasn't left me after all. If you're after a slightly tinted balm this maybe a great option for you, just don't expect any shimmer at all or much if any colour.

Candy Cane: A lilac pastel pink with fine lavender and silver multicoloured shimmers. Its pretty but, its not for me - on its own. Personally I find it looks a little ashy on me without anything on top so, to rectify this I like to add a clear gloss over it. With a gloss on top - it gives a beautiful lilac sheen to the lips which I believe will work on all skin tones - problem solved.

Tapioca: Do you like bubble tea? I love bubble tea and all its tapioca squidgy balls of squishing sugary tapioca goodness sweetness so, I certainly had to try this ... This shade is basically silver fine shimmers. I was so surprised at this shade as I wasn't expecting it to be ... um silver. This is not really a shade I would wear on it own because of its ashy + patchy appearance on my lips. However with a clear gloss on top this shade is very pretty and wearable. It reminds me of shades that were cool in the 90s-00s and this song. When paired with a clear gloss its actually quite a refreshing shade on the lips as it illuminates them in a beautiful subtle way.

Rum N Raisin: My mum loves Rum-N-Raisin ice cream so of course I had to get this one ... This shade is a perfect amalgamation of bronze and gold shimmers . Its pretty on its own for a metallic bronze lip or with a gloss on top - I think is a great shade that makes me think of summer sunsets.

Maraschino Cherry: A bright fuchsia shade with fine pink shimmers. Out of all the Anita Grant lip tints I have, I actually like this one the most. I think this shade is the most pigmented out of the bunch I purchased and it surprised me the most - its very flattery on and makes me feel like a Disco Queen! I think this shade is such a super beautiful colour and would be a great introductory shade/texture for those who want to try out bright pinks but are scared and for those who don't like the feel of "normal" lipsticks.

Expiration: 6 months (my tubes say Best Before: Dec 2016)
Price: £3.99 each

From L to R: Swatches of a clear lip gloss (Boots Natural Colelction Vanilla) over Tapioca *first 3 pictures, Candy Cane, Rum & Raisin and  Maraschino. The other lip gloss used is Kiko Red apple applied over Tapioca in the first second picture. Hopefully, you can see that any gloss/lip products can be used to enhance the lip tint and create a different effect.
... Well I hope this helps anyone who is looking to purchase any of these shades or would be interested in trying the line. I think its reasonably priced and I don't care that the package is not very glamours. My only gripe is that I feel like Anita Grant should at least have colour descriptions on the website to help customers choose, as I feel like the pictures alone of the product do not give the actual depth and finish that the each tint possess ... Overall I'm content with my purchase although I don't think I'll buy anymore shades from the line.

More thoughts: It would be nice if Anita Grant made some moisturising lipsticks without shimmer but with great pigmentation and shine, as not everyone likes matte shimmery shades. Just a thought. Yet I still love the brand (UK based, natural/organic, caters to highly textured hair and dark skin, offers great samples, excellent customer service etc.)
