Recently, I perused through my local L'Occitane store and tried out their latest fragrance range - the Grasse Collection named after the city of Grasse in Provence. Located near the Mediterranean, the city became known as the "perfume capital of the world," by combining the cultivation of local flora with the trade of precious Eastern ingredients. I personally had the fortunate chance to do a tour of Fragonard Perfumery some years ago - it's one of the oldest perfume factories in the city. It was quite fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed it. :) If you ever get a chance, do go check the city out, particularly if you're a bit of a fragrance connoisseur!
There are 4 different Eau de Toilette fragrances in the collection:
- Jasmin & Bergamote
- Magnolia & Mûre
- Vanille & Narcisse
- Thé Vert & Bigarade
They're all lovely fragrances, but it was the Magnolia & Mûre Eau de Toilette that caught my nose and came home with me. ^_^ A very close second is Thé Vert & Bigarade. The latter is unique to my nose - very clean, fresh for summer and is also suitable for both men and women. I might get my hubby to sniff this one out next time. ;) Apparently, it's been the most popular out of the range.
For a limited time, L'Occitane are offering a gift with purchase in-store (over a certain amount - sorry I can't recall how much, but I did purchase a shower gel for my man as well to get the gift). The gift consisted of a pretty pouch and inside the pouch are 2 cute sampler sized (7.5ml / 0.25 fl.oz) bottles of the Jasmin & Bergamote and Magnolia & Mûre Eau de Toilette fragrances and a miniature bottle of their Divine Extract Ultimate Youth Serum.

Overall, definitely worth sniffing the new collection out - I'm sure there's something for you. ;) I personally enjoy the floral and fruity combination of Magnolia & Mûre - it's a wonderful balance. It is indeed sweet, but the magnolia does lift it up a bit. The muskiness and woodiness gives it a touch more maturity and warmth that makes it also equally appropriate to wear through to the evening. It's lovely fragrance for all seasons really! Love the bottle and packaging, too.
